Importance Of Voting October 18/06

It shocks me, that many of my peers and especially in the gay community that don't see the importance of voting. There has been discouragin events in our life time with the voting system we have in place but that by no means gives the right for people to not to try. Voting is important and if we as a gay community do not stand up and let our voices be heard legally, then help you when and if a replublican with very conservative views becomes president and present a bill that would amend the constitution to ban same sex marriages. Being so every state would have to approve the bill and if we don't vote for the party that is willing to protect our interest then if our states our mostly reds states then that bill will pass and we will have taken a big step back and that bill would open up a lot of excuss for discrimination against gays, we would be stricken of our rights and then what, for sure im not staying if that bill stays. So if you dont think voting is important you better recheck your thinkng. Voting is very improtant let not pass event as I mentioned discourage us from doing so. For all who read this in Texas I hope you take a good look at who you are voting.
